Job summary

Saint Luke's East is seeking a Nursing Student to join the Medical Surgical Ortho unit as a Nurse Intern. The role involves performing clinical procedures and patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with direct and indirect patient care activities and support for the health care team.

Ideal candidates are nursing students enrolled in an accredited RN program with completion of Fundamentals of Nursing and a graduation date in 2026/2027 or 2027/2028.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program; Fundamentals of Nursing completed; graduating 2026/2027 or 2027/2028.
• PRN schedule; minimum 1 shift every 6 weeks.
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures and patient care under RN supervision.
• Provide support to other health care team members.
• May perform technical tasks per unit competency validation.
• Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.

Position

Nurse Intern - Medical Surgical Ortho

Schedule

PRN; Minimum 1 shift per 6 week schedule

The Nursing Intern is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed a Fundamentals of Nursing course and have a graduation date in 2026/2027. The Nursing Intern performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs direct and indirect patient care activities. Provides support to other health care team members. The Nursing Intern may perform technical tasks per unit competency validation. However, Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.

The Nurse Intern position is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed the Fundamentals of Nursing . We are currently looking for nursing students whose expected graduation date is in 2027/2028.
