Job summary

Saint Luke's East is seeking a Nursing Student to join the Medical Surgical Ortho as a Nurse Intern. The role is PRN with a minimum of one shift every six weeks, for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing and expect to graduate in 2026/2027.

The Nursing Intern provides patient care under RN supervision, performs procedures within unit competency, and supports the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program and has completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Must be progressing toward RN licensure.
• Graduation date expected in 2026/2027 or 2027/2028.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Support the health care team and assist with unit tasks within competency.

Position : Nurse Intern - Medical Surgical Ortho
Schedule : PRN; Minimum 1 shift per 6 week schedule

The Nursing Intern is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed a Fundamentals of Nursing course and have a graduation date in 2026/2027. The Nursing Intern performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs direct and indirect patient care activities. Provides support to other health care team members. The Nursing Intern may perform technical tasks per unit competency validation. However, Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.

The Nurse Intern position is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed the Fundamentals of Nursing . We are currently looking for nursing students whose expected graduation date is in 2027/2028.
