Job summary

Saint Luke's East is seeking a Nursing Student to join the Medical Float Pool as a Nurse Intern. The role involves performing clinical procedures and providing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, for patients assigned on the float pool.

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited RN program and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing, with an expected graduation date in 2026/2027; a 2027/2028 graduation is also noted.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program and has completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Expected graduation dates 2026/2027 or 2027/2028.
• Current nursing student active in clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform clinical procedures and tasks within unit competency.
• Assist other health care team members as needed.
• May perform non-licensed technical tasks per unit validation.

Nurse Intern - Medical Float Pool

Schedule

PRN; Minimum 1 shift per 6 week schedule

The Nursing Intern

The Nursing Intern is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed a Fundamentals of Nursing course and have a graduation date in 2026/2027. The Nursing Intern performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs direct and indirect patient care activities. Provides support to other health care team members. The Nursing Intern may perform technical tasks per unit competency validation. However, Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.

The Nurse Intern position is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed the Fundamentals of Nursing. We are currently looking for nursing students whose expected graduation date is in 2027/2028.
