Job summary

Rasmussen University is seeking a Master’s prepared nurse to join the School of Nursing as a Full-Time Instructor for the MSN program. The role involves instructing nursing students across modalities, guiding and evaluating performance, and ensuring program outcomes.

The candidate will teach in various modalities, maintain office hours, and support accreditation and NCLEX readiness. On-site at the Aurora, IL campus, with opportunities for professional development and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license that has never been encumbered.
• Master’s degree in nursing is required.
• At least 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/ICU; at least 1 year teaching experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• 3 years’ experience as a registered nurse.
• Self-motivated, flexible and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, peers and community partners.
• Excellent written and strong verbal communication skills.
• Must provide professional licenses and certifications required for teaching.
• Must adhere to immunization policy and provide documentation.
• Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in courses aligned with documented qualifications and areas of expertise.
• Ensure all instructional activities and required contact hours meet modality and policy requirements.
• Maintain weekly office hours to support student learning and address questions.
• Demonstrate consistent instructional presence per modality and policy.
• Support and participate in curriculum implementation, assessment, and accreditation-focused activities.
• Be accountable for NCLEX preparation throughout the program.
• Full-time faculty teach a full workload; part-time teach up to 30 hours per week.
• Participate in quarterly professional development week activities.
• Attend campus meetings, faculty team meetings, and other designated meetings.
• Participate in committees and campus events as designated by the Dean.
