Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is seeking two full-time tenure-track Nursing Instructors at Ventura College, beginning Spring 2027. Instructors provide comprehensive classroom instruction to diverse students to help them achieve academic or vocational goals.

Under the general direction of a dean, instructors may teach evenings or weekends and may have off-site assignments with consent. Minimum qualifications include a Master's in Nursing and a current CA RN license.

Qualifications

Master's in Nursing (required).
Current California RN License required.
All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills.
Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and support services; refer to resources as appropriate.
Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
Plan and organize instruction according to course outlines and student learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, and progress; submit data on time.
Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with faculty; ensure timely delivery.
Participate in curriculum development and update syllabi; assess learning outcomes.
Revise course content according to new theory and industry developments.
Attend committees and meetings; may provide work direction to others.
Perform related duties as assigned.
