Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is seeking instructors for Nursing Science/Clinical Practice in a part-time pool across Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura campuses. Positions are non-contract, temporary, and intended for upcoming Summer/Fall/Spring terms.

We invite applications on an ongoing basis for future vacancies; the pool will be used for candidate consideration when a vacancy arises within the academic year. Applicants from previous pools should reapply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or an associate degree and six years of professional experience, or the equivalent.
• Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction to students through lecture, laboratory, or performance courses.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and study skills.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on inquiries.
• Plan and organize instruction per approved course outlines and outcomes.
• Maintain and submit data and reports related to course progress.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with discipline faculty and order materials as needed.
• Revise and update course content in line with new theory and industry developments.
• Update syllabi and collaborate with faculty to assess student outcomes.
• May participate in curriculum development and attend department meetings.
• May participate in articulation and matriculation activities.
• May provide work direction to others.
