Job summary

Unitek Learning in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Full Time LPN Clinical/Skills Lab Faculty to support our Workforce Development Partner Trinity Health. The role delivers Skills Lab and clinical education to students, with a minimum 40 hours per week and reports to the Assistant Dean.

Applicants must hold a valid RN license, be eligible for RN instructor approval, and have 4+ years of nursing experience; a Master’s degree (or BSN with MSN plans) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, unencumbered RN license (State Board of Nursing).
• Eligibility for approval by the State Board of Nursing as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
• Minimum four years’ RN experience with recent direct patient care.
• Clinical teaching experience in RN programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Skills Lab and/or Clinical education per established curriculum; rotations may include days, evenings, or weekends.
• Use teaching methods suited to adult learners and supervise student clinical experiences.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in health care facilities.
• Evaluate student performance against learning outcomes per nursing program policies.
• Give timely feedback on clinical performance after observation.
• Maintain accurate attendance and program outcome data; assist with recordkeeping.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
• Determine effective methods to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
• Pursue ongoing quality improvements in instruction and use of online learning tools.
• Submit program reports to the Academic Site Director promptly.
• Stay current with safety regulations and new technologies.
• Participate in committee activities; attend faculty meetings; maintain communication with students.
• Other duties as assigned.
