Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Nursing Home Surveyor (Nurse Consultant I) to conduct regulatory inspections of nursing homes to verify compliance with federal and state requirements. The role involves surveying facilities during routine inspections and investigations, and preparing formal survey reports.

This is a home‑based position serving Cabarrus, Rowan, Davidson, Mecklenburg, Stanly and Union counties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in communicating effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to compose technical reports using good grammar.
• Strong clinical background including assessment, care planning and delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Surveying nursing homes during routine surveys and complaint investigations.
• Completing survey reports, including statements of deficiency and complaint allegation findings.
