Job summary

Kelly is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to ensure accurate resident billing, maintain ledgers, and handle accounts receivable in a nursing home setting in Hartford, CT. The role requires compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and confidentiality.

You will process billing, reconcile accounts, and assist with Medicaid and ancillary services billing while supporting the Bookkeeping Office Manager and collaborating with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and accounts receivable functions.
• Previous nursing home/SNF/LTC experience preferred.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and monitor computerized financial ledgers.
• Process resident billing and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
• Bill third-party insurance carriers and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and prepare necessary adjustments.
• Assist with Medicare billing processes and ancillary services billing as applicable.
• Monitor pending Medicaid applications and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Maintain and reconcile resident banking accounts.
• Compile and update billing information by payer type, service date, and type of service.
• Support the Bookkeeping Office Manager with daily administrative and accounting functions.
• Follow established policies while protecting confidential resident information.
