NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR | Franklin, VA
Southampton Medical Center
Position Summary

The primary responsibilities include organizing the functions of the nursing home to carry out programs and meet resident needs within the framework of the mission and philosophy of Bon Secours Mercy Health, as well as adhering to Federal, State, and Local regulatory guidelines.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Establish accountability; formulate and maintain administrative and Human Resource practices.
  2. Maintain appropriate professional and business liaisons, prepare reports, attend meetings, and participate in relevant associations (community, professional, and governmental).
  3. Develop and maintain public relations/marketing programs, establish contracts, and set goals and objectives for the nursing home.
  4. Ensure compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
  5. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Vice-President/CEO.
Employment Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, gerontology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Certificate in gerontology preferred.
  3. Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
  4. Five to seven years of progressively responsible management experience in a long-term care environment.
  5. Experience with Virginia’s reimbursement system is preferred.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  7. Ability to relate to people effectively to gain confidence and support.
  8. Objectivity in assessing problems and reaching appropriate conclusions.
