UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a nursing student for a temporary role across nursing areas. The position is co-assigned with an RN and involves direct patient care and supervision while developing professional nursing skills.

Candidates must be in the final year of a nursing program and obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. The role emphasizes safe patient handling and ongoing learning under the nurse mentor and unit leadership.

Formación

• Must be entering their final semester/year of Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate RN program of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsabilidades

• Assists the registered nurse in the practice of professional nursing by providing direct patient care to promote patient comfort and facilitate diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Assists the RN with the patient’s activities of daily living as needed.
• Performs designated procedures as needed following departmental procedure.
• Observes, records, and reports patient concerns, symptoms, reactions, and progress to the RN in a timely manner.
• Assists the RN with examinations and procedures; demonstrates competency in basic and intermediate care skills under supervision.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Assists in indirect care, cleans assigned areas and equipment, and may act as a sitter or handle limited medication access as directed.
• Attends staff meetings and unit in-services as applicable.
