Job summary

West Coast University seeks a Nursing Academic Specialist to guide nursing students and support their success across coursework and clinical preparation. You will champion student-centered learning, coordinate remediation efforts and collaborate with faculty to address course challenges in a dynamic healthcare education environment.

In this role you will leverage LMS tools, ATI resources and data to drive improvements in student performance and persistence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing, education or administration is required.
• Professional nursing licensure is required.
• At least two years as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care or education.

Responsibilities

• Support students via workshops, remediation sessions, group tutorials and one-on-one meetings.
• Integrate ATI tools and resources in all student meetings for remediation and concept understanding.
• Develop strategies to improve test taking, study and note taking skills for course performance.
• Collaborate with faculty to identify course weaknesses and create innovative initiatives.
• Identify Students at Risk and develop action plans for persistence and success.
• Track data to inform interventions addressing persistence challenges in core courses.
• Assess pilot persistence strategies and progress toward defined objectives with students.
• Participate in professional development and industry groups to stay current on ideas and practices.
• Evaluate data from proctored assessments and pre/post tests to advise the Manager of Persistence and Outcomes, Nursing.
