Job summary

The DSD coordinates education programs, schedules in-service activities, and ensures competency in new skills.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN/LPN license required.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in long-term care.
• Experience providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruiting and hiring of staff.
• Coordinate completion of and process employment-related documentation.
• Prepare and post a monthly in-service calendar.
• Plan, conduct, and document in-service education programs.
• Coordinate infection control surveillance program.
• Supervise staff and disciplinary actions.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections).
• Provide direct resident/patient care.
