Job summary

Golden Rose Care Center in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Director of Staff Development (DSD) for a 95-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. The DSD will plan, conduct, and coordinate educational programs to develop skills for all nursing staff and ensure compliant orientation and ongoing education.

Responsibilities include needs assessments, collaboration with nursing leadership and the IDT, implementing infection control education, and maintaining program records.

Qualifications

• State LVN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong educational and organizational skills.
• Experience in long-term care with direct resident care preferred.
• Proven ability to teach adult learners and coordinate staff development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and coordinate educational programs for staff development.
• Ensure orientation and in-service programs comply with regulations.
• Assess educational needs via surveys and regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and IDT to assess and educate staff.
• Organize infection control education and set department goals.
• Develop annual education and in-service calendar; post monthly schedule.
• Maintain records of orientation, education, and in-service programs.
• Assist CNAs with recertification processes.
