Job summary

Overlake Hospital Medical Center seeks a Manager of Clinical Education and Nursing Professional Development to oversee nursing education, professional development, and competency programs for nursing and patient care teams in a dynamic hospital setting.

The role collaborates with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders to promote evidence-based practice, workforce development, and learner-centered training while aligning with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• MSN in Nursing Education or Healthcare Leadership required.
• Current Washington State RN license.
• NPD-BC certification and specialty certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience.
• Three years in nursing education, staff development, or clinical training.
• Three years of nursing leadership experience preferred.
• Experience developing and implementing clinical education programs for hospital/acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for nursing education programs, student programming, life support and clinical practice.
• Align clinical practice, education, and professional development with organizational goals.
• Promote lifelong learning, clinical excellence, and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state standards.
• Maintain competency readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives integrating education and practice change.
• Develop and manage budgets for operations and education programs.
• Monitor labor productivity, program costs, and resource utilization.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or staff development.
• Collaborate with academic institutions and external partners.
