Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional nursing practice through evidence-based education and activities for nursing and allied staff at the facility.

You will lead onboarding, competency development, and education initiatives, collaborating with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to tailor programs based on outcomes and evaluation results. This role emphasizes lifelong learning and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact state license required.
• Nationally Recognized Specialty certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding and orientation program development and evaluation for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development, coordination, and management of competency activities.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to knowledge and practice deficits.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and engages in research, EBP, and quality improvement.
• Facilitates lifelong learning and staff progression from novice to expert.
