Qualifications

• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Federal and State nursing home rules and regulations.
• Experience in leadership/management issues is preferred.
• CPR trainer status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees education, training and documentation for new licensed nursing staff with follow-up on unit orientation and weekly progress notes.
• Designs programs that enhance nursing practice, knowledge, skills and attitude.
• Coordinates student placement orientation and organizing preceptorship for students.
• Collaborates with leadership on clinical issues to update policies and procedures.
• Maintains schedule flexibility to cover evening, night, and weekend shifts.
• Performs literature reviews to provide staff with updated clinical techniques and standards of practice.
• Supervises the Associate Director(s) of Education and provides nursing orientation in their absence.
• Oversees employee health requirements and reporting for compliance.
• Oversees PCC training for licensed nursing and CNAs and immunization clinics for staff and residents.
