Job summary

Legacy Health is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist to advance nursing practice across the system.

You will conduct learning needs assessments, apply adult learning principles, and partner with disciplines to improve patient outcomes.

This role emphasizes education design, competency programs, change management, and collaboration under nursing leadership to drive professional growth and best care.

Qualifications

• RN license in applicable state.
• BSN or MSN/MN required.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• 4 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Preferred: Nursing Professional Development Board Certification.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding/orientation programs designed, coordinated and evaluated.
• Competency management to ensure clinical proficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Education design, delivery and evaluation of nursing initiatives.
• Role development including preceptor leadership and transition to practice programs.
• Collaborative partnerships with interprofessional teams to support system-wide education.
• Promote evidence-based practice and quality improvement through dissemination of findings.
