Job summary
Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist to support Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology, and to bolster the Nursing Professional Development division.
The NES will assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities for Nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education and competency programs, acting as a learning facilitator and change agent.
TN sponsorship is available; current RN licensure is required with opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications
- Experience in educational programming.
- Demonstrated teaching skills.
- Certification in nursing professional development is preferred.
- BLS competency is highly recommended.
- Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
Responsibilities
- Support Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology and the Nursing Professional Development Division.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs.
- Roles include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development specialty and partner for practice transitions.
