Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN seeks a Nursing Education Specialist to support Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. You will lead education for Department of Nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs.

The NES acts as learning facilitator, mentor, and change agent, partnering for Nursing Professional Development and practice transitions to improve patient care. This role supports TN sponsorship and requires state licensure.

Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or related field; degree in Nursing education preferred.
Current RN license as per state requirements.
Will consider applicants who commit to degree completion within six months of application date.
Certification in nursing professional development preferred.
BLS competency is highly recommended.
Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.

Responsibilities

Support Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology, along with Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Division.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs.
Roles include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development specialty and partner for practice transitions.
