Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist (NES) to support Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology, as well as the Nursing Professional Development Division. The NES will design and evaluate educational activities, including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs, while serving as a learning facilitator and mentor.

The role requires RN licensure, advanced nursing education degree, and may involve TN sponsorship.

Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or an associate/bachelor’s in Nursing with a master’s/doctoral degree in healthcare/education is required. Degree in Nursing education preferred.
Will consider applicants who commit to degree completion within six months from application date.
Experience in educational programming and demonstrated teaching skills; Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.
BLS competency is highly recommended.
Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Additional state licensure or specialty training as required by the work area and DON credentials list.

Responsibilities

Support Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology and the Nursing Professional Development Division.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education and competency programs.
Roles include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry and advocate for Nursing Professional Development.
