Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Nursing Prof Dev Practitioner for Monmouth Medical Center, in the Develop Innovation & Research Department. This hourly, day-shift role emphasizes education, leadership, and clinical instruction within a major NJ teaching hospital.

Responsibilities include coordinating orientation, developing education programs, and collaborating across care teams to enhance patient outcomes. NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS, and leadership experience are required; per-diem scheduling may apply.

Qualifications

• BS/BSN required.
• Three years current experience in areas of specialization required.
• One-year experience with demonstrated leadership/management required.
• Minimum 2 years Behavioral health specialization required.
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with patient, family and other health care providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Completes assessment of competency skills on all staff annually.
• Consults with staff nurse, Clinical Directors, physicians and administrators on practice-related issues.
• Contributes to performance evaluations of nursing staff as appropriate.
• Coordinates and facilitates nursing orientation with Clinical Director, orientee and preceptor.
• Develops and conducts educational programs based on skills and educational needs of nursing staff, patients and families.
• Develops nursing standards of practice and policies with staff registered nurses.
• Assists with implementation through education.
• Encourages ongoing professional growth through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.
