Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Nursing Prof Dev Practitioner at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. The role focuses on developing innovation and research in nursing education, providing leadership and mentorship to staff, and advancing evidence-based practice.

The position emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and administrators to enhance patient care quality and safety, while supporting ongoing professional development and department priorities.

Qualifications

BS/BSN required with current NJ RN license.
Minimum of three years of experience in a nursing specialization.
One year of leadership/management experience required.
BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.

Responsibilities

Is responsible for reporting safety issues and promoting safe patient care, including hazardous environments.
Collaborates with the patient, family and other health care providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Completes annual assessment of competency skills for all staff.
Consults with staff nurses, Clinical Directors, physicians and administrators on practice issues.
Coordinates and facilitates nursing orientation and general education programs.
Develops nursing standards of practice, patient care standards and policies with staff nurses.
Assists with implementation through education and supports professional growth.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
