Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Faculty member for the School of Nursing on the Elizabeth, NJ campus. The role involves developing and delivering evidence-based simulation activities, mentoring students, and supporting faculty in the Learning/Simulation Lab.

The candidate will demonstrate nursing expertise through clinical teaching, utilize high-fidelity simulators, and provide timely feedback while upholding the Faculty Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field preferred.
• Active New Jersey RN license or approved compact license required.
• Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or CNE cl preferred.
• Certified Health Simulation Educator (CHSE) preferred.
• Minimum two years of acute patient care required.
• Minimum one year of simulation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates evidenced-based activities in the Learning/Simulation Lab in coordination with course faculty.
• Participate in simulation activities as primary instructor or as technical support to faculty members.
• Demonstrates nursing skills and techniques to students.
• Use information technologies skillfully to support the teaching-learning process, including the use of high-fidelity human simulators.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills to effectively communicate information, observations and/or activities to appropriate individuals.
• Recommends additions and deletions to the library.
• Provides individual and small group tutoring in the Lab.
• Provides ongoing feedback to students related to their strengths and weaknesses in performance of skills.
• Demonstrates professionalism and sensitivity when interacting with students/peers.
• Serves as a role model for professional nursing and adheres to the Faculty Code of Conduct.
