Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist I to lead, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs that advance clinical excellence and professional competency across nursing and interprofessional staff.

The role requires a BSN with 5+ years RN experience; a MSN is preferred. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and outcomes measurement is expected; leadership in education and collaboration with medical staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of five years of RN clinical experience.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred and may be required within four years of hire.
• Experience in an education role (clinical education, professional development, or academic faculty) is preferred.
• Knowledge of Nursing Professional Development, adult learning theory, evidence‑based practice and outcomes measurement is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based quality and educational programs for nursing and interprofessional teams.
• Collaborate with Nursing leadership, ICCE, and organizational leadership to promote competency and role performance.
• Establish collaborative working relationships with diverse groups and health care providers.
