Job summary

MEDICAL WEST HOSPITAL AUTHORITY is seeking a RN-Nursing Professional Development Specialist to design, implement, and evaluate educational programs that advance nursing practice and patient care outcomes. You will work with nursing leadership to tailor development plans and ensure regulatory alignment.

The role focuses on developing competency-based education, supporting continuous learning, and coordinating orientation for new staff within a fast-paced acute care setting in McCalla, Alabama.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of acute care clinical experience.
• Experience in teaching/precepting (e.g., unit preceptor or mentor).
• Current unencumbered Alabama RN license.
• Experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical training.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive nursing education programs and workshops.
• Assess effectiveness of educational interventions and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify development opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of nursing best practices and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate orientation and onboarding programs for new nursing staff.
