Mercy Health—West Hospital in Cincinnati is seeking a Director of Nursing to coordinate and advance the strategic direction for their clinical units. This leader partners with the site nursing leader to implement initiatives, evaluate outcomes, and align with health system goals.

The role requires BSN, 5 years nursing and 2+ years leadership in acute care, with RN license and BLS; preferred certifications to support unit needs.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BSN degree is required
• MSN or related field (must be completed within two years)
• 5 years of experience as a professional nurse (required)
• 2+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in an acute care setting (required)
• BLS (preferred on hire; must obtain before patient care)
• PALS/ACLS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC/National Board Certification/Nurse Executive Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of two or more nursing areas
• Advises on and promotes strategic plan
• Oversees cross-functional issues
• Manages budget development, monitoring and variance analysis
• Interviews, hires, develops, and retains associates
• Promotes an environment for professional growth and interdisciplinary work
• Ensures care aligns with Nursing Professional Practice Model
