Job summary

The Alden Network in Chicago, IL is seeking a Nursing Director with proven leadership to plan, develop, and supervise the Nursing Department in compliance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, chart audits, care planning participation, budget adherence, and ensuring regulatory compliance across shifts, with a focus on compassionate resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must possess current, unencumbered RN license to practice in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Minimum of one year nursing service administration experience.
• Must possess CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Must read, write and speak English clearly.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Must deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies, and the public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and work harmoniously with personnel.
• Must be personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Department.
• Directly supervise and instruct the Ladies and Gentlemen of Alden on topics to promote job knowledge.
• Develops and implements a nursing/rehab/restorative philosophy to promote quality care for residents.
• Ensure adequate staff on all shifts and maintain staffing levels.
• Audit charts and EHR to ensure daily documentation is completed.
• Audit laboratory and x-ray reports and file results.
• Participate in admissions planning and care conferences.
• Schedule department work hours and assignments to meet resident needs.
• Submit Workers' Compensation forms to Business Office Manager within 24 hours of occurrence.
• Plan and participate in In-service Education Programs and orientation for new staff.
• Place orders for equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
