Job summary

The Alden Network in Hoffman Estates, IL seeks a Nursing Supervisor (RN or LPN) to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants. The role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local standards while maintaining high-quality care for residents.

Responsibilities include planning and directing unit operations, supervising staff, developing care plans, and coordinating with physicians and administrators to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in IL and/or WI.
• Must possess CPR certificate or certify within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Interest/knowledge in care of the aged.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, family, visitors, and staff.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; work harmoniously with others.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing unit.
• Directly supervise and instruct staff on topics to promote knowledge.
• Ensure staff follow policies and dress code.
• Develop written care plans identifying customer problems and needs.
• Attend and participate in customer care plan conferences.
• Report concerns to the Administrator.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure duties are performed and care plans followed.
• Chart nursing notes reflecting care provided and patient response.
• Complete admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Participate in staff meetings and related duties.
