Job summary

Athens Health and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Director of Nursing (DON/RN) to lead the nursing department at our 90-bed skilled nursing facility in Athens, PA.

Responsibilities include planning and directing nursing services, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting rounds, collaborating with physicians, maintaining infection control, providing staff education, and upholding quality resident care in partnership with the management team.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience in long-term care.
• Experience with geriatric residents and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department
• Audit nursing documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and support high-quality, holistic resident care
• Make daily rounds to observe and assess the care provided to residents
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to promote positive resident outcomes
• Maintain infection control practices and documentation for staff and residents
• Ensure required education and training are provided in collaboration with the management team
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing team
• Promote compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies
