Job summary

Arcadia Care Watseka in Illinois is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing department and oversee daily operations in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure the highest quality of resident care.

The DON will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate nursing services, supervise licensed staff, and collaborate with other departments to maintain safe, continuous, and comprehensive care for residents.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as an RN.
• 3 years of experience in a supervisor healthcare role, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
• Ensure enough licensed practical and/or registered nurses; Certified Nursing Assistants; medications; and safety equipment are available and utilized in the proper manner for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained.
