Job summary

Dart Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Director of Nursing for a healthcare facility in Kansas. The role leads the nursing department, ensures regulatory compliance, oversees budgeting and policy development, and supports staff performance and training to deliver high-quality resident care 24/7.

The position requires RN licensure, CPR, and 1–3 years of management experience in long-term or acute care. Travel to nearby facilities may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Nursing, or related field.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State License as Registered Nurse.
• CPR Certification.
• 1–3 years of management or supervisory experience in long-term care or acute care.
• Experience managing a department.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the nursing staff.
• Ensures the nursing department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop, implement, and update department policy and procedures.
• Provide staffing for resident needs within budgetary guidelines.
• Participates in Federal, State and Local agency surveys.
• Review deficiencies noted by government agencies during inspections.
• Operate the Nursing Department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
• Assist in annual performance reviews and staff education.
• Provide counseling and disciplinary action to staff as needed.
• Train and educate staff members.
• Maintain infection control and safety practices.
• Report hazardous conditions and equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain resident comfort, privacy and dignity; show warmth and respect.
• Respond to call lights promptly in care areas.
• Assist with admissions, readmissions and transfers.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attend departmental meetings and in-services.
