Nevada State University invites applications for the Student Worker - Nursing Course Assistant. The Nursing CA supports School of Nursing students through SI sessions, tutoring, and nursing skills practice, helping learners engage with materials and overcome academic challenges.

These roles may require weekday, weekend, and evening hours. The program emphasizes collaboration with faculty, staff, and NSSC to foster student success and inclusive excellence in a diverse campus community.

Qualifications

• Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester.
• Must be a current pre-licensure BSN student within the Nevada State University School of Nursing.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Attends all required trainings every semester and meetings during the week or breaks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsabilités

• Attend all lectures of the assigned classes and model effective learning behaviors.
• Plan and run weekly supplemental instruction (SI) sessions with faculty support.
• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to nursing students.
• Assist with nursing skills practice and coaching for student success.
• Notify students of upcoming workshops and support events outside scope.
• Meet regularly with NSSC staff and collaborating instructors for feedback.
