Job summary

Excelsior University seeks a Part-time Clinical Instructor to support nursing courses, supervise student clinicals, and provide feedback. Expect onboarding, adherence to policies, and weekend clinical duties during an 8-week term with early mornings and long days.

The role requires a master's in nursing (or BSN with progress toward master's/doctorate), an active NYS RN license, and 5+ years of varied RN experience. Strong communication and teaching skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing or BSN with enrollment toward master/doctoral in nursing.
• Active NYS RN license and BLS certification.
• Minimum 5 years RN clinical experience across varied areas.
• Experience supervising nursing students or new grads.
• Strong written and verbal communication; uses educational tech.

Responsibilities

• Complete onboarding and site-specific training requirements.
• Fulfill policies in the Clinical Faculty Handbook.
• Work 2 non-consecutive weekends during an 8-week term; 25 hours each weekend.
• Grade clinical assignments by course due dates using rubrics.
• Remain present for full clinical day and hours.
• Plan patient assignments aligned with objectives.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and use technology (EHR, pumps).
• Complete unit-specific training and facility requirements.
• Participate in pre/post clinical activities in Canvas LMS.
• Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students.
• Provide evidence-based examples and feedback to students.
• Complete individual clinical evaluation rubrics promptly.
