Job summary

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse, operating within the NC NAI framework. The role supports patient safety and comfort on a designated unit.

Under supervision, you will assist with routine care, participate in unit activities, and ensure accurate documentation while maintaining infection control and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred - or higher.
• NAI listing with NC Department of Health and Human Services is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or other de-escalation program) within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Quality Improvement (QI) Activities: problem solving, data collection, safe practices, infection control, and cost savings.
• Participates in Education: attends staff development, fulfills mandatory education, orients new staff.
• Follows hospital/unit policies and maintains patient care quality and licensure.
• Builds interpersonal relations, communicates effectively, and supports teamwork.
• Contributes to unit/department goals and efficient use of equipment and supplies.
• Under supervision of a licensed nurse, assists in direct patient care and completes delegated tasks.
