Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant / Transport for the Same Day Surgery area. This full-time role runs 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, supporting patient care, pre- and post-operative tasks, and timely transport with RN guidance.

The candidate will perform EKGs, phlebotomy venipuncture, specimen handling, and routine hygiene assistance, contributing to safe, efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and pre-/post-operative duties in Same Day Surgery.
• Transport patients to and from procedures with side rails up.
• Accurately take vital signs as directed by Registered Nurse.
• Perform phlebotomy venipuncture with two patient identifiers.
• Deliver specimens to the lab and ensure proper labeling.
• Assist with hygiene and patient comfort as directed by RN.
• Obtain supplies and transport medications, kits, and IV fluids as directed by RN.
