Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 6B telemetry unit on a full-time day shift. The role provides direct patient care to post-catheterization, GI Oncology, and telemetry patients under RN supervision.

The ideal candidate will hold a KY Nurse Aide Certification or be in the first year of nursing school, with BLS; responsibilities include vital signs, patient transfers, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year of nursing program with clinical rotation.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care: hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, positioning.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, weights, and specimens.
• Perform delegated procedures: blood glucose, EKGs, venipuncture.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Handle clerical tasks: patient charts, physician orders; maintain supply levels.

Staff receive specialized training for post catheterization, femoral sheaths and Tikosyn administration. Medical and post-procedural patients are cared for on this unit in addition to complex GI Oncology surgical post-op patients and inpatients needing chemotherapy and telemetry.
