Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Howard Lake, MN offers a Nursing Assistant Trainee program providing hands-on care under supervision to develop confidence and competence in personal care. The program blends online curriculum with hands-on skills development and prepares participants to take state exams for CNA certification.

During training, trainees work within the nursing team, follow infection control and safety standards, and support clients' physical, cognitive, spiritual, emotional, and social

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 16.
CNA license required within four months of employment.
For applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic health care needs and activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing.
Assist clients with meals and snacks and provide water and nutritional supplements as appropriate.
Document client care when appropriate and communicate changes to a licensed nurse.
Assist with vital signs and other routine health tasks as assigned.
Maintain infection prevention and control practices and support safety and privacy in accordance with location standards.
