Good Samaritan in Howard, SD is hiring for a Nursing Assistant Trainee. The program develops confidence and competence to provide personal care under a licensed nurse, in partnership with a preceptor, delivering holistic client-centered care within a Christian environment.

The program is delivered in hybrid format with online curriculum and hands-on skills, preparing participants to take state exams for CNA certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• CNA license required within four months of employment.
• Certified and registered with the UAP Registry where applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be medically qualified to drive as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing).
• Provide person-centered care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support transfers, positioning, ROM exercises, and mobility assistance.
• Document client care and communicate changes to the licensed nurse.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and basic health tasks; assist with housekeeping as assigned.
