State of Delaware's Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for casual/seasonal placements. This role supports residents with comprehensive care plans, including monitoring health status and assisting with daily activities.

The position emphasizes teamwork within an interdisciplinary care team, adherence to safety protocols, and potential exposure to acute or chronic disabilities.

Qualifications

• Delaware certification as Nursing Assistant is required.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring/orientation for newly hired staff and ensuring assignments are completed.
• Leads individual/group therapeutic processes involving reality orientation, sensory stimulation, ROM exercises, and splints/braces.
• Contributes to interdisciplinary care team by communicating patient condition and needs.
• Maintains aseptic integrity of feeding, catheter and respiratory devices while assisting with personal hygiene.
• Monitors and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, intake/output; alerts staff to changes.
• Provides written/oral descriptions of physical/behavioral changes.
• Observes activities and documents unusual or hazardous behavior; conducts rounds for safety and well-being.
• Escorts individuals to activities and medical appointments; ensures safe transport on/off campus.
• Implements interventions to prevent or de-escalate inappropriate behaviors.
