Job summary

|Baptist Health is hiring a Nursing Assistant for the Short Stay Unit. You will support Registered Nurses with age-appropriate patient care, document admissions details, and assist with daily activities.

Responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs, turning patients every two hours, helping with hygiene and mobility, and ensuring hourly rounds for safety and comfort. High school diploma and BLS are required; CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision.
• Obtain and document patient height/weight on admission.
• Turn and position patients every 2 hours using proper body mechanics.
• Assist with activities and ambulation (up in chair/other activities) as ordered.
• Assist with personal hygiene including showering, bathing, oral care, and catheter care.
• Take and record vital signs within established timeframes.
• Perform hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and comfort.
