Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time, first-shift role on a 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit. You will assist with hygiene, mobility, and routine care, while documenting vitals and patient data to support RN-led care.

You will perform delegated procedures such as glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture, and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. A strong safety mindset and compassionate bedside manner are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year of nursing program with validated clinical rotation
• Basic Life Support certification (within 30 days if not already held)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
• Perform delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Perform clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies with compassionate care.
