Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital San Antonio Inc. in DeSoto, TX is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem night shifts.

This role supports post-ICU patients with bathing, oral care, feeding and mobility, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a critical illness recovery setting. You will participate in hourly rounds, assist with transporting patients, keep rooms and equipment clean, manage basic supplies, and support the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 3+ years relevant work experience.
• Hospital NA experience or CNA certification or related field experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds and assist with patient transport and transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, instruments, and equipment; restock supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the care team.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
