Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Augusta is seeking a Nursing Assistant for PRN/per diem shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, bathing, feeding support, and mobility assistance in a critical illness recovery setting.

You will participate in hourly rounds, transport patients when necessary, and maintain clean rooms and equipment. A high school diploma or GED, CNA certification, and BLS within 90 days are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients with basin-less products and assisting with oral hygiene.
• Assist with oral feeding and hair care for patients.
• Perform hourly rounds and transport patients as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs, and rooms.
• Manage unit stock and perform other duties as assigned.

• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
