Job summary

SSH - Southeast Ohio in Newark is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant (NA) to join our 12-hour night-shift team on a PRN/per diem basis. You will support patients with bathing, feeding, hygiene and mobility, and participate in hourly rounds to ensure safety and comfort.

A CNA certification or equivalent hospital experience is preferred, with BLS due within 90 days. Join a patient-centered hospital that values teamwork and ongoing orientation, with opportunities to advance as openings arise

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less methods and assisting with hygiene and grooming.
• Assist with oral feeding and oral hygiene, and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient status and safety.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, beds, and equipment.
• Keep stock levels of supplies and ensure equipment cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour shifts / Nights

Compensation: $22 per hour

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
