Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem night shifts in Akron, Ohio. You will provide compassionate patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, hair care, and assisting with transfers.

Benefits include orientation, potential for advancement, and work–life support. Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or GED, CNA certification or hospital NA experience, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or hospital NA experience
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide patient bathing and hair care, and assist with oral hygiene and feeding
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with transfers
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs and other equipment
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
