Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital NW Detroit is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to support post-ICU patients in a critical illness recovery setting. The role involves patient bathing, feeding, hygiene and mobility support during night-time shifts on a PRN/Per Diem basis.

As part of a dedicated team, you will participate in hourly rounds, assist with patient transport and maintain clean, well-stocked rooms and equipment. Prior hospital NA experience and BLS are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED OR equivalent work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a Nursing Assistant or CNA certification or related field.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing for patients using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist transporters with moving patients.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs and other instruments/equipment.
• Keep patients' rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
