Job summary

Select Medical's SSH NW Detroit is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour day shifts in NW Detroit. The role centers on compassionate patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, rounds, and assistance with patient transfers and mobility.

You will join a team supporting post-ICU patients in a critical illness recovery hospital, with orientation, potential advancement opportunities, and benefits eligibility after required hours; a $1250 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Nursing assistant certification or hospital experience preferred.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bath patients using basin-less bath products and assist with oral hygiene.
• Perform hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Assist with unit stock levels and perform other duties as assigned.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
