Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant (NA) for night shifts at our West Orange campus. The role supports patients with daily living activities, vital signs, meals, and mobility needs in an inpatient rehab setting.

Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion within 90 days of employment is required.
• Hospital experience or CNA certification is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Deliver meals and assist with feeding and documenting intake.
• Assist patients with personal care (bathing, grooming, oral hygiene).
• Turn and position immobile patients and participate in mobility programs.
• Respond to patient call lights and provide services that support physical well‑being.
• Transport patients to designated treatment areas as needed.

Position: Nursing Assistant (NA)

Location: 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052

Schedule: Full-time, Nights 7PM-7:30AM (Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Compensation: $21.00-$25.59/Hour (Based on Experience) +Shift Differential

• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub, and shower), oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves, and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in the mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.

Minimum Requirements

• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required
