Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) for our inpatient rehabilitation facility in West Orange, NJ. This full-time day shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) includes weekday and weekend shifts, with compensation based on experience plus a shift differential.

Responsibilities include vital signs, safe patient mobility, daily personal care, meal delivery and documentation, and patient transport. Minimum BLS required; HS diploma preferred and CNA experience appreciated.

Qualifications

• BLS certification or completion within first 90 days of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience and CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, grooming and personal care.
• Deliver meals, assist feeding, and document oral intake including supplements.
• Turn and position immobile patients safely, assist with mobility programs.
• Respond to call lights and support overall patient well‑being.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and appointments.

Compensation

$21.00/Hour - $25.59/Hour (Based on Experience) + Shift Differential

• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub, and shower), oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves, and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in the mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.

Minimum Requirements

• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required
